New Guns: SHOT Show Edition

SHOT Show has come and gone. Hundreds, maybe even thousands of videos have been released on your YouTube feed covering the event’s excitement (or perhaps disappointment). I’ve gone ahead and sifted through tons of videos and press releases to come up with some of the most interesting releases of the SHOW. Just a warning: I did not include PSA this year (by the way, they stole the show again). Since most of their new releases are concept guns that fans can vote on, I felt it wasn’t necessary to cover them here since we don’t know which ones they will be manufacturing. Without further ado, here are the best (or most interesting, rather) guns and accessories of SHOT Show 2025.

B&T Print X Suppressor: A modular suppressor with long and short configurations, depending on needs. As you’ll see, 3D printing is becoming a standard practice for Suppressor manufacturers.

B&T Print X H RBS: A 3D-printed titanium suppressor with reduced back pressure capabilities. The suppressor is HUB compatible. This compatibility is becoming widely accepted across the industry, making it easier for the end user. Another feature is an Inconel strike baffle that strengthens the first point of contact to help reduce signature (this also doubles the full-auto rating for the suppressor).

B&T TP9 Upgrade Kit: The kit features an aluminum-flared magwell, an aluminum charging handle with extended levers, and a titanium flat trigger that lowers trigger-pull weight. The TP-9 may be the coolest sub-gun on the planet, and B&T has enhanced it.

Ballistic Advantage 10/22 Barrels: The expert barrel makers are introducing 10/22 barrels to the market for the first time. These barrels are available for standard and takedown models of the renowned Ruger rimfire. Barrel lengths come in 16.1”, 12", or 8” with options for fluting.

Dead Air Sandman X: The new X model is 3D printed, HUB compatible, uses a triskelion baffle system, and reduces back pressure (common themes in newly released suppressors). It is built for AR-15 users, especially those that shoot at a high volume.

Eotech Vudu 3-9 Compact: This super-short optic is designed to keep the overall weight and footprint down. It pairs with the ELFX red dot in a piggyback mount. Instead of rings, the optic uses the same base as a Trijicon ACOG scope. At first glance, the optic looks strange, but this setup offers a lot of flexibility for the shooter, especially with scoped carbine becoming popular.

P7 Pro: The P7 Pro Slim enhances the iconic HK P7M13 design while remaining true to its roots. A cool feature is the new gun has 100% parts interchangeability with the original. The P7 Pro Slim features an aluminum frame, a Picatinny rail, and a streamlined profile that measures less than an inch thick (the gun weighs only 20 ounces). This is precisely what P7 enthusiasts have been waiting for! As a fan of classic HK pistols, this was one of the most exciting options unveiled at SHOT Show, though it’s not an easily attainable item at three grand.

Ruger: 10/22 Carbon Fiber: This is Ruger’s next evolution of the 10/22. It features a Grey Birch Chassis with a modular 10" forend compatible with M-LOK and Arca-Swiss systems and has a smattering of ambidextrous QD points. The chassis features an adjustable stock for the length of pull and comb height that folds for portability. For optimal performance, the hard-coat anodized and CNC-machined receiver is made from heat-treated 6061-T6511 aluminum. Additionally, the 10/22 Carbon Fiber uses a cold hammer-forged barrel tensioned with a carbon fiber sleeve and a 1/2x28 threaded muzzle for suppressors, a BX-Trigger that offers a light and crisp pull, and a dual bedding system for secure stability. The design includes a rear cleaning port for easy maintenance and a top barrel locator to enhance accuracy.

Silencerco Scythe STM: This is an all-stainless-steel version of the Scythe-Ti. The Scythe STM is a stainless-steel model that retains all the quality features of the Scythe-Ti but utilizes different material construction. It’s designed for hard-use applications because of this material change. The Scythe STM is also full-auto-rated without barrel restrictions. Additionally, the can is modular, featuring one baffle shorter than the titanium model in its short configuration and two baffles longer in its long configuration—allowing you to optimize your setup for maneuverability and suppression. The Scythe STM is rated for .223 REM/5.56 NATO up to .300 RUM.

Silencerco Spectre 9k: This is the micro version of last year’s introduction. The Spectre series of suppressors are titanium and utilize triskelion baffles (no, I didn’t just write in Klingon). The K model has its size reduced to 3.69” and weight lowered to a mere 3.17 oz. Talk about light and compact. Now, I want to build a briefcase subgun…

Silencerco S98: Continuing with the titanium theme, Silencerco has introduced a new purpose-built 9mm can. The S98 is an eccentric, fully welded titanium suppressor designed for 9mm handguns. Because it’s eccentric, the bore sits below the shooter’s line of sight, providing a clean look and unobstructed sights. The S98 is a new premium suppressor from Silencerco that builds upon the success of the Osprey line.

Smith & Wesson 686 Plus and 629 Mountain Gun: Designed for the backwoods hunter or backpacker seeking the power of a .357 or .44 Magnum without the burden of a traditional steel-framed revolver. This firearm resembles new but reintroduces Smith & Wesson’s 1981 Mountain Gun. The barrel is tapered and measures 4 inches in length. The grip is sourced from Tyler Gunworks. Overall, it is a powerful and packable package that’s easy to carry but very shootable.

Smith & Wesson M&P9 Metal HD: The M&P9 Metal HD Spec Series is a 9mm steel-frame pistol with improved performance. It features a 23-round capacity magazine, threaded barrel, Strike Industries compensator, and a premium blue PVD finish. The M&P9 Metal HD is crafted for precision and control, with an aluminum trigger, an optics-ready slide, and tall C.O.R.E. night sights. This is the continuation of Smith's previous SPEC series pistols. It will likely ship with other accouterments like a challenge coin, extra mags, and a knife.

SNT Motiv K2: Formerly known as Daewoo Precision Industries, SNT is returning the South Korean Battle rifle to the United States. If you are unfamiliar with the K2, it is a hybrid of AR and AK platforms. The K2 is a desirable weapon that’s been difficult for collectors to get their hands on. This was a surprise coming from SHOT Show. The K2 will hopefully hit dealer shelves near the end of 2025 (pending the importation red tape). Do you know what’s becoming a trend in this year’s SHOT show? Old is cool. (For example, Harrington & Richardson is in partnership with DS arms to bring a FAL to market this year).

Stuff and Things INC Stepard: This is a clone of the Russian Gepard, a compact AK-based submachine gun designed for close-quarter combat. STINC has modernized the weapon to merge classic Russian gun appeal with contemporary Glock magazines. Cloning and resto-modding classic firearms remain a theme at this year’s show. It will be sold as a Pistol, with the option to buy the stock and convert it to an SBR (via Form 1).

Surefire: Surefire's new offerings include innovations in weapon lights and suppressor adaption. The XC3 Compact Handgun Weapon Light provides 550 lumens of illumination in a slim, rail-mounted design ideal for concealed carry or duty use (it has the same footprint as the Streamlight TLR-7, which is neat).

Surefire Fast-Attach HUB: In the suppressor world, the Fast-Attach Hub enhances versatility for suppressor users. It allows 1 3/8-24 direct-thread suppressors to easily connect to SureFire SOCOM muzzle devices, enabling tool-free Quick Detach functionality. Those who already use Surefire’s interface need this.

Surefire Dominator: The Dominator Ultra High-Capacity Searchlight returns with powerful performance, providing exceptional brightness and extended runtime for search-and-rescue or tactical applications. When you need the power of the sun, check out this light. (It has 4,400 lumens and pushes that out with 350,000 candela.)

Taurus 650 & 850 Revolvers: Chambered in 38 Special or .357 Magnum, Taurus's double-action-only revolvers feature durable coatings, two different finish options, a slimmed-down cylinder, and replaceable front sights. Taurus hopes to build the best carry revolver that anyone can afford.

Zastava M72: The M72 is a civilian take on a RPK-esque rifle. This is a heavy-barreled AK-47 with a quick-detach bipod, 21” chrome-lined barrel with cooling fins, and ribbed receiver, like the classic Russian rifle. Who doesn’t want a Serbian-built squad support weapon?
